L&T Chennai had a requirement to make the visitors management effective. The requirement was mostly for the visitors and the contractors who required access to L&T office. The client wanted the pre-appointment data to be visible automatically in a machine in the security room at the entrance. The accurate record of in-time and out-time of every visitor and contractor was required to be maintained in the database.
Cybernetics designed and developed Web Based Visitor Management System to meet the requirements of our client.
In Web based Visitor Management System, the date wise pre-appointment names of the visitor gets reflected in the system of the security personnel. On arrival of the visitor, the security officer generates the visitor pass from the machine. The IN time of the visitor gets recorded automatically on generation of the pass. Every visitor pass had a unique barcode on it. The barcode had to be scanned while the visitor/contractor exists. This was done to record the accurate exit time.

Cybernetics deployed a web-based visitor management system showing pre-appointment visitor names to security. On visitor arrival, a pass is generated automatically recording IN time; each pass has a unique barcode scanned on exit to record accurate OUT time.
Each visitor pass carries a unique barcode that security personnel scan when the visitor leaves — recording the exact exit time and eliminating manual log-out errors that commonly occur in manual sign-out systems.
Yes. The system includes a blocked visitor category. When security attempts to generate a pass for a blocked visitor, the system displays a 'visitor has been banned' message and prevents pass generation.
Watch Group flags specific visitors for additional security attention without outright banning them — security personnel receive a visible alert when a watched visitor arrives, enabling enhanced verification.
The deployment used a Motorola barcode reader for document and pass scanning, Suprema biometric scanner for visitor fingerprint capture, and an i-ball camera for photo capture.
