Client Name : Jay Hind College of Arts,Science & Commerce

Jai Hind College, located in Mumbai is one of the oldest colleges of high repute. The Client wanted the electrical equipments of the classroom to get switched on and off automatically when the ID card gets swiped in the reader installed outside the classroom. It was done towards an initiative towards preserving electricity. The requirement was also classified into two categories:

• Category 1 : Professor and Guest Lectures : When the professors and guest lecturers swipe their cards, AC and lights of the classroom should get switched on automatically. It should get switched off on swiping the card again when the professor/guest lecture leaves the classroom.
• Category 2 : Sweepers and Watchmen : When Sweepers/watchmen of the college swipe their cards, only lights of the classroom should get switched on. The lights should get switched off automatically when the card is swiped again while they exit the classroom.

Cybernetics Solutions :

• A systematic integration was done with the HID Reader and the Electrical Appliances.
• Separate cards were made for both the categories.
• Provision was made to ensure that the electrical appliances get switched off automatically, if someone forgets to swipe the card while they exit.

Hardware and Software Used :

• Software : Biometric Access control software used base on server authentication.
• Hardware : HID make Er40 and EHR40

Specific Features :

• Class Room wise access.
• Option for the admin to change the classroom timings of the users.
• Integrated with biometric attendance system

• The Electrical appliances gets turned off automatically when not utilized.
• It helps save energy.
• It also has financial benefits.
